Wireless Rip-Offs!
I lost my cell phone a few months ago and I went to get a replacement. I bought a newer Samsung model that actually has mp3 play-back capability. It also has a slot for memory cards to store music as well as photos and videos.
So I stopped by the Cingular/AT&T store to buy a memory card. They had two types available; 1GB and 2GB.
I asked how much, and the sales woman replied in a haughty tone that the 1GB was $100.
She had this look that said, "Not gonna ask me how much for the 2GB are you, poor man."
Instead I asked her what type of memory card it was.
This took her aback.
She fumbled a bit before mumbling that she didn't know.
She asked her co-workers and they gave strange looks. Some said "I don't know." others said "I'll check."
So finally after a little commotion, I got the answer.
It was a MicroSD card.
Hmmmmm........
I thanked them. And drove to my nearest Fry's.
Where I found a 2GB MicroSD card on sale for $14!!!!
What a RIP-OFF!!!
Remember, kids. It always pays to shop around.
