Hey,
Just a quick shout out to all the Asian cinephiles out there!
I just uploaded the videos that we did for "The Down Low," a video magazine that we produced for the 2006 San Diego Asian Film Festival. We got everything from PSA's on TB, interviews with Grace Park, James Kyson Lee, Daniel Dae Kim, interviews with film makers, and coverage of the festival events and peoples. Here's the logo for the program that I made.
I've been working for the SDAFF for over three years now, and I can't even begin to tell you how much fun it's been. It's also been a terrific opportunity to meet new friends, network, and be inspired.
After working as an associate programmer, I've begun my own venture into film, and have started production on an independent feature film of my own.
So please be sure to check out the SDAFF website, and also the videos. You can click here on my DOWN LOW COLLECTION to see all the videos.

Took a little break from working on the script the other night, and decided to pick up the pencil and do some drawing. It had been ages and I felt like my drawing abilities were atrophied and in need of a good strenuous challenge.
I got the drawing done after 2 Mountain Dews and 4 hours, using a Pentel .3mm, and a kneaded eraser at Lestat's Coffee Shop. I drew it on an 11x14, 100lb. sheet of bristol board. I would have done vellum, but the only vellum pad I had was too enormous to lug to the coffee shop. I'm calling it "Dryad"
What's a Dryad?
dry·ad (drī'əd, -ād')
n.
Greek Mythology
A divinity presiding over forests and trees; a wood nymph.
[Middle English Driad, from Latin Dryas, Dryad-, from Greek Druas, from drūs, tree; see deru- in Indo-European roots.]
I was pretty happy with the drawing, but not so much with the scan. My scanner can only handle 8.5"x11" so I had to actually scan it in as three different pieces and then composite them in Photoshop. Then because either my shading was too light, or my scanner is too crappy (the latter is more likely) It could only pick up the darker lines and cross hatches. I still like it, tho, and I plan to color it and do some digital painting as well.
The left side of the drawing is left intentionally blank. I will be inserting a poem into the blank area when the picture is completed.
Hope you liked the drawing, and please feel free to leave some feedback.

Well it's noon. I just got up, showered, and changed. The sun's out and I'm listening to "Keepin' Out of Mischief Now" by Maxine Sullivan. Love it so much I've uploaded for your enjoyment. Just click on the link in the "Audio" section of my sidebar on the right side of my page. It sounds so good, and I feel so good.
I wish...I was dancing with a girl with a great smile right now.
Maxine Sullivan pwns me. -sigh-
I'm actually quite surprised that I'm feeling so uppity and good, considering that I was out until 3am last night drinking! Last night was pretty eventful; Started with drinks at Bluefoot with a friend, drinks at Whistle Stop, and ended up at Imperial House for the rest of the night. The whole crew was in effect. Rachel and Billy, Max, Terry, and Nancy were in the hiz-ouse. Groovin' to the tunes of the illustrious Rick Lyons, we rocked the joint very well, very well. I ended up getting my grind on for most of the night with a girl from Africa, nicknamed, Steamy Pussy.
That's right, let me say that again...
"Steamy Pussy"
Yeah, ask me about it next when you see me! :)
After losing track of how many drinks I had, I stepped out front with Billy for some cancer on a stick, and ended up becoming victim of a drive-by grinding. A girl that will be known as "Wounded Gazelle" (props to Billy for that one) came over bummed a smoke, called me a dick, complained about the cold, noticed I was wearing a jacket, and then proceeded to grind on me for warmth. She told me I was warm and grabbed my butt. Terry who was out there getting some air pointed out that he regretted not wearing a jacket.

Terry was experimenting with TUMS the other night, as he was not able to get a hold of his PepcidAC dealer. And it turns out that although not quite as effective as PepcidAC, the TUMS did do a decent job of battling the dreaded Azn glow. Billy and I had a good laugh when we saw Terry pop a TUMS, and Billy pointed out that you're not supposed to eat them directly, but drop them into water and let them dissolve. Terry was like OOPS! and spit the TUMS into his Jack Daniels with rocks.
Max dropped me some word that Citizen Video will be running a series of Matinee screenings on Sunday afternoons at the Whistle Stop. They're going to be kicking things off tomorrow at 3pm with "Night on Earth" directed by Jim Jarmusch.
We closed the place down and were on our way out when a woman started to holler at me with an "Ahn Young Hah Say Yo." Turns out she was happa, and bragged that she could make a mean kimchi-chigae. Damn!
After Max finished peeing behind the Imperial House van in the parking lot, we bounced out and called it a night.
Well, I'm off to get some tea, work on a drawing for friend (which I'll post later if she OK's it), and work on my script.
Oh, and be sure to check out my SIDEBARS on the right side of my page, I'll be uploading new music, photos, drawings, and so on!

I am begining to realize how much time I lose on this on ramp now.
Starting tomorrow I will attempt to compose Haikus... I mean Monday!

The weekend is almost here, and I am getting ready to gorge myself at L&L's for lunch!
For those of you not in the know, L&L's is Hawaiian food of the gods served in what I call Samoan portions!
If I can pull myself out of the impending food coma, I'll post again later tonight!

So what do you do if you're 93 years old, and you're not ready to die yet?
Ran across this blog being written by Don Crowdis. He said something so poignant in his blog entry that it's shaken me to my core.
"It bothers me that I have to go."
Check out his blog entry, and then go out tonight and appreciate everything that your senses can take in, and take into your heart even the things that you can't sense.
