Kid Rockstep

I am someone who is trying to live life to its fullest, and working to make all of my dreams and ambitions come true. I love the visual arts (both pop and fine), and enjoy drawing, painting, film photography (check out my shots), film making, and graphic design. I've got a soft-spot for good manga/comics, RPG's, foreign and indie films, and just about anything that's rendered well in pencil. I am currently working to produce/write/direct an indie film. I'm adapting the story from a Greek myth. The current working title is "Love and Soul." My love for film has also gotten me involved in non-profits. I'm a programming associate for the San Diego Asian Film Festival. I've been on the staff for three years now, and have helped out with everything from recruiting films, helping to choose the line up for the programs, jury nominations, graphic design, and MC for guest panels. It's a great organization and a hella good time. You can even check out a video project I worked on for the fest called "The Down Low." I helped organize the beast, and played at being a VJ this past year here. I'm pretty active, and enjoy dancing (Lindy Hop, Hip Hop), acrobatics (just recently landed my first mariposas, now I'm working on landing a folha seca), martial arts (taught Tae Kwon Do for a while and currently into Capoeira), and occasionally some time at the gym . On first glance, a lot of people tend to peg me as some kind of B-Boy, but I actually have very diverse interests in music, arts, and culture. I'm just as likely to be jamming out on Joy Division in my car as I am to Badly Drawn Boy, Peaches, UTFO, Grandmaster Flash, Minor Threat, Fugazi, or even Zero Seven. Got a big soft spot for local musicians though-SUPPORT! One of my favorite things right now, is when you can get a bunch of your friends to hang out in the same place for an entire night! I usually enjoy kinda-chill places, but I do love to get my dance on.
